Collection: The SoftECC® design is a special device used to non-surgically acquire an endocervical biopsy. The tip is snapped free of the handle and submitted in the formalin vial. Please thoroughly read the manufacturer’s instructions for the SoftECC® kit to ensure accurate specimen collection.

Special Instructions and Considerations: Please remove the collection tip from the handle at the score mark and submit the collected specimen in 10% Neutral buffered formalin or Carson Millonigs’ formalin.

Storage and Transport Instructions: Maintain specimen at room temperature (15°-30°C). Ensure the specimen container is securely sealed before transport.

Causes for Rejection: Specimen is incorrectly labeled, or not submitted in formalin, or container is open
